As a welcome offer, they will be able to enjoy 500 Mbps of Internet, 30 gigabytes of unlimited mobile calls, landline services with unlimited calls, and TV Replay with Deco Android 4K for 19.9 euro a month.
  • This new Euskaltel strategy responds to the request of residents, companies and municipalities requiring the arrival of the Basque operator in their towns.

Bilbao, 6 March 2020. Euskaltel has taken a conclusive step towards its objective of bringing more advanced digital telecommunications services to all Euskadi municipalities over optic fibre. Thanks to the new plan deployed by the Basque telecom operator, Euskaltel already reaches 105 new municipalities in Euskadi and 200,000 Basque homes with limited connectivity, or where it had no possibility of offering its high-value products and services to date, through optic fibre.

With this new expansion, Euskaltel will be able to serve over 1,200,000 homes in the 241 Basque municipalities availing of access to an optic fibre network from now on; i.e., practically all the towns of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.

Thanks to this development, Euskaltel continues to consolidate the expansion of its network coverage in zones that still have no access to its advanced telecommunications products in Euskadi, being already poised to make its convergent service proposal to practically all Basque municipalities, homes and companies.

Up to now, over half of the 251 municipalities existing in Euskadi - 136 towns, 1 million homes - had access to the proprietary Euskaltel optic fibre network. From now on, another 105 new places must be added to these 136 towns - more than 200,000 homes - that will be able to access Euskaltel products and services over the optic fibre network.

The clients from the new municipalities will have access to 500 Mbps of Internet, 30 gigabytes of mobile and digital TV with Deco 4K for 19.90 euro a month

Over the next few days, residents from these 105 points where, up to now, subscribing Euskaltel services had not been possible, will be able to access the operator's convergent offer, which includes landlines with unlimited calls and mobile telephony, broadband internet and mobile, and digital TV. Specifically, the new clients will avail of access to a new welcome offer, with 500 megabytes of Internet, 30 gigabytes of mobile with unlimited calls and digital TV with a 4K high-definition Android decoder and replay service for 19.90 euro for the first six months, by subscribing before 31 March.

In the notification to the new homes who are to have access to its services, Euskaltel will announce fast and clean installation free of charge to residents, whereby Euskaltel itself will process swift and simple client portability from a current operator for new users.

The information about access to the Euskaltel network for new municipalities is available over the website (www.euskaltel.com) where the coverage map may be consulted, as well as in shops and at customer care, by calling 1717. Likewise, in the daily ETB weather information program Eguraldia, reporter Ana Urrutia will progressively be geolocating on the map the municipalities where Euskaltel optic fibre arrives throughout the month of March.

Euskaltel thus culminates the deployment of its network and will continue its stake in expanding latest-generation telecommunication infrastructures coverage in every Basque town in order to procure the connectivity of all the homes and companies in Euskadi towns, towards the final purpose of reducing the digital gap.

Strengthening itself in its natural markets to initiate nationwide expansion

This new Euskaltel strategy responds to the request of residents, companies and municipalities requiring the arrival of the Basque operator in their towns.

Euskaltel has become the leader and protagonist of the technological and digital development driving the Basque Country, providing broadband, landline, mobile and pay TV products and services, other convergent services, and support to a broad range of clients, managing to reach 771,074 individual clients and 15,263 companies in 2019.

One of the fundamental pillars of the Group strategy specifically rests on the strength of its brands - Euskaltel, R and Telecable - in their respective markets, and aims to reinforce even more the roots of these brands in their territories.

By strengthening the Group in its natural markets, implementing a single operating model for all three brands, and on the basis of value proposals to its clients that have led the Group brands to consolidate its leadership in its territories and successfully deal with the start of expansion into regions close to its natural markets, the Euskaltel Group will soon face nationwide expansion, offering convergent products and services under the Virgin brand, which spells out access to a market covering 85% of the territory in which it still has no presence, representing an excellent opportunity for growth and profit.
