First Lego League (FLL) is the first international robotics tournament organised in the Basque Country by Innobasque and Euskaltel. This initiative was created in 1998 and has been developed for years in various countries. It is celebrated simultaneously around the world and is an excellent tool to motivate young people and contribute to them enjoying and having fun with science and technology, thus promoting values of innovation and creativity.
Gamegune is a European eSports competition and even though it was initially part of Euskal Euskal, it has become a stand-alone event in recent years. The games included in the competition are Counter-Strike 1.6, Quake III, Starcraft II, CS:GO, League of Legends and Hearthstone in the last event.
The scenarios have ranged from Bilbao Exhibition Center, the Euskalduna Conference Centre or the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to the Sports Arena and Banamex in Mexico City.
Euskaltel sponsored the Azkena Rock Festival in Gasteiz yet again this year.
A total of 30,306 people flocked to Mendizabala for the 2016 Festival.
The headliner was the concert by The Who. The legendary British band thrilled the festival goers at Azkena Rock for 90 minutes with a performance that no one will forget.
Radio Birdman from Australia, The Vintage Caravan and Imelda May, who was back at Azkena six years after performing at the festival in 2010, and Marky Ramone his Bliztkierg 40 Years of Punk were other highlights.
Azkena Rock Festival will be held on 23 and 24 June 2017.
